Also referred to as the Legion of the Bear. Given to those who have exemplified and furthered the art of soldiering, who have shown outstanding skill upon the field of war, who have imparted those skills to others by teaching and training, who consistently display leadership, courtesy and chivalry, in an exemplary manner, above and beyond normal expectations. Election into the Order requires an Oath signed by the Sovereign, Consort and recipient. The Oath reads “I shall and for as long as I remain a soldier of Meridies, defend the Crown and Kingdom and serve within the Legion of the Bear, pledging the safety of the Crown and Heirs with this my sworn Oath.” Members may place the initials MLU after their names, and shall be styled in procession as “Praetorians of the Legio Ursi,” or “Members of the Legion of the Bear.” Membership within the Order may be withdrawn if a member fails to display continuous dedication to the ideals and mission of the Order. Members who are elevated to the Chivalry are honorary members, and do not participate in the consulting of the Order. This award also includes a Grant of Arms.
